£45
Beinn a’ Bheithir is made up of two munros, Sgorr Dhearg and Sgorr Dhonuill. When combined with the Schoolhouse Ridge they give a magnificent days ridge walking and scrambling with fine views over Loch Leven and Glen Coe.
The route begins at the Tourist Information Centre within the village of Ballachulish, we will pass through the village passing the school to gain a 4×4 track. The route continues a long this track passing through a gate, just after the gate we turn right and start to ascend the open hillside towards the Schoolhouse Ridge.
Easy scrambling on the Schoolhouse Ridge will lead us to a munro top, Sgorr Bhan, from here we continue to Sgorr Dhearg the first munro of the day and fine view point towards Sgorr Dhonuill the second munro.
To gain the summit of Sgorr Dhonuill we must descend to a bealach and then ascend again to the summit of Sgorr Dhonuill the second munro of the day and a fine view point overlooking Loch Linnhe and Ardnamurchan the most westerly point of the Scottish mainland.
Descent will be back to the bealach, where a faint path leads downhill into the forest below. Once in the forest, we will follow forestry tracks back to Ballachulish.
