Maol Chean-dearg & An Ruadh-stac, 1 Munro & 1 Corbett

June 4 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Maol Chean-dearg is an isolated munro located on the north western side of Glen Carron and can be combined with An Ruadh-stac an isolated corbett to give a more interesting and varied days walking in this remote area.

The day will start from the parking at Coulags, here we will walk north along the eastern side of Fionn-abhainn until it is possible to cross over just before the bothy. We continue north towards Coire Fionnaraich until we reach a path leading us west to Bealach a’Choire Ghairbh. From the bealach we will climb steeply over loose rock to the summit of Maol Chean-dearg a munro with fantastic views towards Loch an Eoin.

We will descend from Maol Chean-dearg back to the bealach, from here it is now possible to gain the steep west facing ridge of An Ruadh-stac. We climb this steep rocky ridge to the summit of An Ruadh-stac.

Descent will be by the way we ascended, this will return us back to the bealach, here we will gain the footpath that will lead us back to Coulags.

Meeting at Coulags Bridge, 08.00am 4th June 2022. Cost is £45.00 per person if paying by PayPal or £40.00 per person if paying by invoice, email aspect-mountaineering@outlook.com or WhatsApp 07969 847338 for details
