The Fannaichs, Meall a’ Chrasgaidh to A’ Chailleach. 5 Munros
August 31 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm£45
The Fannaichs is a spectacular mountain range with many peaks connected by sweeping ridges and corries and is located to the south of the A835 road which connects Ullapool in the west to Inverness in the east of Scotland.
This spectacular walk within the Fannaichs takes in five munro summits, Meall a’ Chrasgaidh, Sgurr nan Clach Geala, Sgurr nan Each and then continues to Sgurr Breac and finally A’ Chailleach.
Starting from the A832 parking at Loch a’ Bhraoin we will follow a 4×4 track passing the loch to gain a stalkers path after a short distance we will strike out steeply uphill and directly to the summit of Meall a’ Chrasgaidh the first munro of the day. A series of complex ridges leads to the summit of Sgurr nan Clach Geala the second munro, from here we will continue to Sgurr nan Each the third munro of the day. We will then descend to bealach before climbing again to the summit of Sgurr Breac the forth munro and then continue to A’ Chailleach the fifth and final munro of this epic walk.
Descent will be to the north via a very pleasant ridge to gain the stalkers path returning us to our starting point at Loch a’ Bhraoin by the A832.
