The Saddle & Sgurr na Sgine via Sgurr na Forcan, 2 Munros

This route takes in the mighty Forcan Ridge onto the summit of Sgurr na Forcan, which leads to the summit of The Saddle and then the summit of Sgurr na Sgine. This magnificent ridge is the finest way to combine these two munros and is a must do for the munro enthusiast.
The day will begin by the A87 at a layby, from here a sharp steep ascent leads to the bealach between Biod an Fhithich, a fine Grahan in its own right and a minor top called Meallan Odhar. The walking now becomes easier as we approach the beginning of the Forcan Ridge. The ridge starts by scrambling up easy slabs, once we overcome the slabs we are now on the ridge. Numerous rocky steps which can be avoided in places lead to an awkward down climb. From here easier terrain leads to the summit of Sgurr na Forcan.
To continue this magnificent walk easy ground leads to the summit of The Saddle and the first munro of this circular walk. A steep descent leads to a bealach, here we ascend to gain the broad sweeping ridge of Sgurr na Sgine the second munro. Easy walking leads to the summit of Sgurr na Sgine, a fine view point towards the Cluanie Southside.
The descent will be via re-tracing our steps back to another minor top Faochag and a fine view point of both The Saddle & Sgurr na Sgine. From here we descend directly back to our starting point by the A87.
